    eggfooyoung You no eat more!

He's barely dragging knee in places where Hopper would be dragging elbow!

His end times were still very impressive!

Think if that was a 500cc 2-stroke he would have had such a good ride?

Sorry, I thought I was asking a legitimate question. I wasn't trying to dog on the guy.

This is what I was getting at.

I'm certain riding that bike seemed slow to him.

F1 car lap times are typically 25-30 seconds shorter than MotoGP
lap times at the same track, last time I looked anyway.

The times should be a little closer this year due to the elimination
of electronic controls on the F1 cars.

Despite the federation trying to limit the performance of the cars, the engineers and aerodynamicist's always find a way to improve mechanical grip and aero to make up for speed limiting rules such as engine size, tire configuration, wing limitations and driver aids. Have not checked lap times from Australia but I am betting they are just as fast if not faster than last year... or maybe I am wrong.

That's what I was wondering. There is also the matter of perspective. Sitting with your ass an inch or two above the pavement makes even slower speeds seem faster.

Still, to me it was an impressive performance.

I believe he is a somewhat avid trackday rider. I thought he looked good.

Did he start recently b/c it sure didn't look like it in the video? I can't imagine the Ferrari camp letting their chosen one out to play on a two wheeled toy while he was winning championships. But I guess Rossi even finds time to rally on occasion.

well i guess this year I was wrong- the F1 lap times were .5 sec quicker last year at the opener down under... blame it on the black box....

    paul just fast enough

When you make over 50 mil a year I guess you get to do things us mere mortals can;t.
