My friends at Bulldog Cycles worked on one of those "new" Enfields. The verdict- only bike they had ever seen (under street use) where the crankshaft did not last as long as the OEM rear tire. Truly a POS of grand proportions. They should stick to providing online help desks and not build any more cycles in India.
Hmmmm...but there's something a little different that could be stuffed into a modified RD400 frame...a Yam triple, based on the Zegers TC500, but built up w/different bore/stroke to 750 cc, water-cooled, and with reed valve cylinders instead of piston port...just like my (old) Zegers but a bit more powerful...or maybe somehow find a Konig motor and drive yourself crazy... Yes you could also make it a 350 triple like the Katayama bike, which i saw in person in Ireland, very sweet looking machine indeed... Triples can grow on you...strange...but true...but strange. Everyone I know who has raced triples is....strange.
huh, me? Triples can grow on you...strange...but true...but strange. Everyone I know who has raced triples is....strange.[/QUOTE] I resemble that remark
my idea wish ducati would build a single motard or roadbike.half a 1098. they got a twin mating 2 singles so do it in reverse. mike (new here, hello).
Im putting together a 91CBR1000 Hurricane motor into a 95f3 frame. Will actually use the f3 ram air and everything from the f3 except the motor. The motor itself has been built to the guills. Blue printed the motor with a 3 ml overbore, ported and polished and decked and shaved head with webcam cams in it. Full Two Brother Racing exhaust with Thermosman suspernsion.Should be a real tricky bike.
Here is a picture of it prior to paint and some finishing touches... It made a respectable outing other than a broken shifter in F-500
Sorry I made you miss your warm-up lap! Didn't look like it slowed you down on the first lap though!
Is that a 250 or 360? Back in 80/81 I built a street legal Kawi with an F11 frame, S2 disc brake front end, genuine F11M motor, KZ550 tank and a KZ400 seat and tail section.
Strange but effective. How bout a RZ350 motor in a Honda Hawk GT650 frame. Honda CBR600F3 front end, Marchesini rims, Yamaha TZ250 upper fairing, hand built expansion chambers, hand built tail section and rear sub-frame, EBC full floating rotors, PVL ignition, manually operated power valve system. Sounds cool but probably would not be legal.
Sounds like a great V6LW bike.. put one of the newer big bore T-Rex top ends etc. on it and rule the class...... now it might not be legal in F-2stroke or V-5 due to the frame. I think I saw a bike like this once, it was a work of art, and the guy could really put a ride on it...
Instead of messing with an old heavy frame and forks like the Hawk, I would go with inverted TZ forks and a tigcraft or spondon frame.
I remember Roger at TBR racing building a cbr900 motor in an f3 frame. But that was a streetbike with light wheels and the such.
