So will he be able to get a factory ride since he has challenged the Dunlop tire machine? Or will they look the other way so they can have the next AMA Superbike champ.

    It all depends on Spies.

May will get a factory ride. No matter how the Spies cards play out. Don't discount SBK either.

With? May is damn good but factory rides don't come along often and the ones with them, seldomn move aside.

The only open superbike seats for next year:
    Yosh - 0
Honda - 1 (with Hodgson, Zemke and Hayes fighting over it)
    Yamaha - 2 ( E Bostrom and Disalvo)
    Kawasaki - 0
MV Augusta - 2 (guessing at that)
Ducati - won't be back for a few years
    There's alway Corona

You then get into the factory support teams.

    Wait and see.

  6. i'd like to see him do a couple of races on some dunlops......he gives the other guys hell, until the tires go off.

hell of a talent he is.....

  7. to add to my last comment.......the M4 team isn't a shim sham team neither. as far as the 600 machine goes, they've be the top suzuki for the last couple years yes???? glad to see the P tires step up, but still not at the same level as the dunlops though.

After Yamaha gets rid of Disalvo, a spot will open up under the blue tent.

But they already have Bostrom and Herrin waiting in the wings. Not to mention the wild card of Edwards.

It's like chess. Move one piece and it opens up 3 or 4 other moves.

Yamaha isn't going to get rid of DiSalvo.
What about Jordan? Maybe a spot there?

    But Jordan isn't a "factory" ride. ;)

Well if May doesn't move up the Suzuki food chain and Disalvo doesn't go away or "across the pond" thus opening up a spot at Yamaha, maybe Ducati will come back to AMA and he can ride the 1098. May has experience on Ducati's. Herrin is definitely the one who can stand in the way of a Yamaha ride.

what about Rog moving to GP or SBK and May taking his spot along side Jamie?..?..?

like stated before "one move will open 3-4 others"

I hope Pork Chop goes but two 'mericans on a MotoGP team? Not like we're talking about Lucky Strike Suzuki here. :D

  16. RLH did a great job at Laguna, but not too sure about him riding in MOTOGP full time just yet. That is a whole another ball game.........plus let alone he hasn't even won a national championship yet.

Not a damn thing. They destroy teams with larger budgets with riders who shouldn't be winning on the dating game much less at an AMA national.

But John has said in the past that Team Hammer is a team that makes champions who then move onto bigger (but not always better) teams and bigger pay packets. Check out the list: Russell, James, Smith, Batey, Hopkins, Hayes, Spies, Sadowski, Turkington. . . the list is almost endless.

It's rare that a rider stays with hammer forever.
