http://sameerkumar.blogspot.com/2007/07/work-in-progress-2008-ktm-rc4-690-and.html I don't think this has been posted up yet. KTM RC4 690 sportbike. Looks like a fun machine. some more photos http://www.motociclismo.es/Noticias/ktm-rc4-690-superduke-supermoto-lc4-kw-ficha.jsp?id=2502
It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look right either... Somethin' about it doesn't line up - like the subrame is bent or the forks are bent or something - the whole bike looks like its leaning back to me... I'm all about some new lightweight bikes, but I won't be impressed until dealers in the US actually get them. The lightweight market in the US ain't all that great compared to Europe and Japan. I'm still waiting on the Mito 500 to show up here.
Hopefully that is pre-production bodywork... But spec-wise, that thing would be an awesome track bike. Maybe even run in the SV650 class in most orgs? I dunno...
KTM always talks like they are going to make those bikes and we never get anything but SMR's and they even stopped making the good ones of those. We get 560 *a 450 on crack that blows the crank out after 3 race weekends. or the nasty 525 SMR they stopped making. But we did finally get the DUKE!!!!!
I had a $500 deposit on an RC8 for 3 years before they sent it back to me. Said it wasn't coming any time soon despite the hype and the dealer said they'd cost around $30K.
KTM said you guys go work on the tail, you guys work on the tank, you guys work on the front fairing AND NO TALKING, JUST WORK. That is some ugly weird shit.
funny considering how much the RC8 looks like it's hunched forward. it actually looks like they just put shorter forks on some form of dirtbike frame, lowered the rear, and threw (...threw-up...) some kind of disasterous bodywork on it. that could be a damn cool Clubman bike...
