The Sex Pistols were my gateway band into Punk. But now they seem way too contrived and market friendly. Kinda like the Eagles are to classic rock.

 

They're wealthy now. I was also a (early) PIL fan. However, when I saw them the last time they were just another crappy pop band. Didn't play a single song off the first album. :down:

.. hard to say really, all the "real" fans are like late 30s or early 40s now?? I was a wanna be punk, middle class family in a small mid west town and i was actualy a couple years too late. Sid was already dead when i was turned on to the Sex Pistols (and early Black Flag, 999, Dead Kennedys, etc) in the mid 80s. I had all the imports, the buttons, spikey hair, cut off t-shirts, etc.
