Who cares about Americas Bridges and other things like power grids and water supplies!! We need MORE BETTER STADIUMS for our all important ball sports
Annnnnnd everyones insurance just went up. Let's pray for the families that lost their loved ones on this. What a shit deal all the way around. One good reason the new Michigan to Canada bridge is 100% supported from land. There's absolutely nothing in the water there. If there's one thing history can teach us...if Humans touch it, then at some point in time it'll absolutely get fucked up. The crew on the Buffalo hit the Detroit light house while on autopilot. Ships have hit the bridge to my island twice. This shit happens on ships all the time believe it or not.
Yes, and the massive container ships like the one that hit this bridge were not using the Baltimore port in the 1970's when the bridge was built. Hard to design for a future you cannot see.
My niece is a lawyer for a marine insurance company. I asked her if it was one of hers but it's not but she said that it will be a pool claim on the re-insurance market so it will affect any bonus she gets next year. I don't know if she has heard something through the grapevine but she also said that she wouldn't want to be a pilot right now.
Well the one thing they all need, bow thrusters, pods, rudders, etc is power. Well all except... and Oh shit. I just created a new industry....Prisoner & Inmate Maritime Patrol Serivce...PIMPS for short. They can row around and help ships dock and protect vital infrastructure from damage. All at a reduced cost to the taxpayer from less housing costs, security issues and reduced healthcare. I bet recidivism rates go down as well.
Ship is made in 2015! How in the hell this thing doesn't have redundant power systems just for situations like this, specially when so many ship operational systems depend on it!?
