F40 designed in 1984-1985..Honda did a damn good copy 5 yrs later.
For all intents a purposes a better all around car...but a Ferrari unlike all others 1st & foremost..is not just a car grasshopper!

I saw 4 of the F40s at the Ferrari Mondial event at the Daytona speedway. Also 10 LaFerraris... one used as a pit car.
I lost count of how many different models & years were parked in the Lake Lloyd area.
For a vehicle that was 30+ yrs old at the time... it was pretty nifty

 

That would be my first inclination based on that description.

I've seen two of them in the wild, 50 years apart.

 

It may look a bit dated now, certainly not as timeless some other Ferrari's. Show me a car from the mid 80's that looks any better. This was a time when the Chrysler K car was a hot seller, ugliest car ever.

 

Any of the GTs are timeless beauties..can't compare the F40 to them, totally different woman..... Each is perfect for it's design.
NOW one of the,if not the ugliest car ever...IMO it's the Pontiac Aztek.
SAME guy designed the new Fugly Corvette.
How do ya keep a job..after the Aztek? Just hire him to ruin the Corvette and BLATANTLY COPY 8-10 Ferrari Ques..But still manage to totally botch it....LoL..it looks like a full size matchbox fast & furious bodykit...
l could care less about performance... Camery vs 308, or Corvette vs $$ price point. Shit a ,1989 Nissan Maxima was faster than my 68 Dodge Charger R/T 440 magnum..Maxima easily faster. But it didn't have that 2.5 ton sexy metal wrapped around it.

Even if Camrys & Corvettes did 0-60 in 2 seconds..they just aren't even in the same game....that's a dirty glass filled sandbox vs my a Ferrari... lol

Dear God Awful

 

Not a Ferrari fanatic, but little kid me was and enough others were that it fueled the supercar industry to exist at all. Starting with telling the Italian tractor man to take a hike through cheating their way through 60s sports car racing. They inspired and pissed off enough people that we all benefited in the long run.

 

Yes a 40+ year old car with carbs or early fuel injection is slower than a modern electronic engine with variable errything and a massive increase in compression ratio.

But the 308 still look better than any Camry ever made.
