This is the first year I've seen the GNF and CCS Race of Champions scheduled on the same weekend.

I know with all the changes going on in CCS, I figured this would be a better starting point to ask....
is there any chances of the date changing?

Lots of us like to compete in both events since they are only typically a week apart.

yea i think historically WERA runs GNF mid october, and CCS runs ROC around the 20-23.

Normally roc is like the 18th and gnf is the next weekend a few years ago it was the first weekend in November I'd like that because it would get it off the Austin f1 race weekend

My understanding is the city of Daytona sets the dates for October Bike Week.
And thus CCS has to follow what Daytona council dictates.

The GNF has historically been 2nd weekend in Oct to the first week in Nov.

And the first Biketobest was around 1990?

    that is correct.
it's unfortunate that a lot of riders will need to chose one or the other, as people like to do both.

I'm seeing it on the schedules like this

    ROC Oct 13-15
    GNF Oct 19-22

That seems like normal. AHRMA the first weekend. CCS the second weekend, WERA the third, sometimes fourth weekend.

exactly. it hurts everyone as vendors, riders, etc can only be at one event

Mark Tenn does Florida events while James Bock does Alabama and Georgia for Pirelli. Stick you don't do Florida CCS events correct?

Not at this time, so Daytona isn't mine. Moving either would be near impossible.

Ok cool so racers at either shouldn't have issues buying tires!

    They should be fine.

Daytona (the city) moved Biketoberfest. No clue why.

I think we're both screwed as CCS has to do what DIS wants and we had our date set with Barber for about 6 months before Daytona announced the change.

Yep. Nothing like having us both forced against each other at the most expensive (or damn close to it) tracks we hit.

if all the stars line up right with the schedule, i could in theory do races at one track saturday, then go to the other one for sunday
