It could be fun watching Dovi join Rossi on the Petronas Pensioners Retirement Home Team this weekend.
Yamaha goes well here. Morbidelli won in 20. I expect FQ20 will go all in for the win. PB63 finished 2nd in 20, so he’s going to give everyone another run for the money I expect. MV12 has four poles here, but the only pole he’ll see are the ones flying flags.
Pecco. The guy is coming off an amazing win against Marquez. Last year he was the guy here and threw it away; while this year the Ducati turns much better and he’s on form right now. Much better rider at this point in the season. What is like to see is a good fight between Pecco and Fabio that goes to the last few laps. That’s highly possible. Side note : Hope Rossi’s last home helmet is a badass one.
Interesting observations around Maverick. https://www.reddit.com/r/motogp/comments/pnbngy/a_quick_look_at_mavericks_first_race_on_the_rsgp/
Marquez was like Pecco is live Dovi with more cornering speed. so basically nothing changed. he sucks at the race start and then picks up the pace
I'm thinking that the baseline later in the race is not bad, given that it's only his third time at real race pace. Close to on-par with the guys running top 7. I agree that his opening laps could be better. I just thought it was an interesting comparison. Would like to see that same comparison of laptimes with GG and the rest of the WSBK crew.
Someone should show the author of that Reddit post how to properly present data. Throwing a three or four lap lagged average on that first chart would do wonders for the readability and actually allow for some insights.
