That’s the n63 bmw engine. It’s a “hot” V8. The exhaust and turbos are in the middle. Those boxes are a pair of air to water intercoolers. That’s what happens when you let engineers design something with zero thought to maintenance, longevity or any sort of brains other than “it makes sense on paper”
I quit BMW as a mechanic because of that engine. More specifically what BMW paid warranty flat rate to work of that pile of shit.
Looks pretty easy to work on too me...everything is right out in the open. (Dang, that is a lot of hoses.)
I mean the theoretical into real life... Also it's a BMW it will never break down or need maintenance the engineers said. 20K oil changes and lifetime fluids
Not really oddball, but an old friend stopped by on his way through town last night. He had been riding and kayaking in NC and going back to Alabama. He hates Rossi and is a Marquez ball-swinger. So I snuck out to his truck and left a little present on his bumper...
I saw on the Kia Stinger that they have to remove the engine to replace the alternator....uhhh...alternator so soon, and uhhh what...remove the engine
