Whichever way it works. :D I'll sacrifice some performance for reliability.

Pretty much eliminates a Harley. No performance and suspect reliability. Best of both world's. :flag:

So to speak...I guess. But, not how we characterize it in the south.

    Factual, but not accurate.

Craig, Just to illustrate. Harley in their infinite wisdom found it necessary to create a small lip on the edge of the outer primary case which results in not being able to pull off the rotor. So you have to remove the clutch pack, and the starter to remove the inner primary, to remove the rotor, to get to the stator. But wait, there’s more. In order to remove the starter, you have to remove the battery box, the oil reservoir and misc wiring etc.

The clutch pack is no biggie, I need new fibers and plates anyway (reference pic below) and might as well throw on a new compensator and primary chain. But good Lord, I’m not removing the fn oil tank etc. I’m taking a dremel to the lip. LOL

@G 97, you may as well take the inner cover off while you are in there so you can replace the crank seal on that side. It will get old and brittle, then pump your engine oil into the primary.
That makes a huge mess when you grind the ridge off. I was in a similar predicament with my Ultra. But I couldn't bring myself to grind it off and then deal with the paranoia of the inevitable swarf and chips it might leave no matter how well i cleaned it.

As for Honda's, I replaced the wax unit on my VFR. That was a pain in the ass.
Replacing the stator and left side oil seal on the Harley... not so much.

And that rug really ties the room together.

    That will buff right out.

What is that spooge on the stator pole? Clutch material? Tensioner? Did it burn up?
