You don't have to convince me on the "zero tolerance" policy. In all the years I played, I never missed a submission. I have a very simple, foolproof method that I shared with the group every year and still we always had people who screwed up. The reason I suggested the above was because I think it makes it slightly more difficult to score big points than using the last round, in my opinion. For example, if a couple of racers are on a hot streak that you did not predict before the season, there's a good chance that your pre-season or there is not as good as what you entered at the previous round. If somebody is hurt and is going to miss a couple of rounds, you get penalized for forgetting to set your order. Anyway, just brainstorming here.
Yeah..for the most part, people that didn't submit picks were usually in the bottom half most races, so I really don't see it as a big deal for the most part. I really dig the weekly champ idea. It'll be like a trophy for the race win and the overall championship is akin to the GNF trophy I think we should meet some minimum # of entries though, so the weekly amount is worth it, along with a nice pot at the end.
yeah, it's extra motivation to "MM93 sweep it" or "Broome" it. Like collecting watches for pole and getting a BMW at the end.
I've had a great time this year everyone. Glad someone picked up the pieces from motogp.com. I'll play again next season for sure. Not opposed to no points for no entry (it's doesn't really take that much effort) or to weekly prizes. It all sounds fun. Good luck to everyone in the final race!
The total table shows all the results from every round, just sort it [emoji16] Sent from my smatrfone
If there was a race week champ, this is how it would look. I added the Avg finish throughout the year stat too. There were some ties for 1st, so there are a total of 20 1st place finishers. If we do something like this, maybe split the pot in a tie. All this is hypothetical, if we do that format.
I like the nerd porn! But I think you're just salty you have the highest Avg Finish without a win Somebody's gotta be the Dani Pedrosa of fantasy lol Or maybe you wanted to expose Badmoon's 2 wins from the 12-hole I like the $20 split in a tie, or all $20 could go to whoever had the most perfect picks? Just another idea to keep the payouts simpler.
Interesting, but nothing that surprising, parsing race winners. BB leads with no race wins; Motorkas tied for lead with 3 race wins, yet down in 9th. I think steady and reliable picks will sort over 19 races, as we are seeing. Badmoon is actually in 15 spot. The average ordinal place isn't weighted by actual scoring. This confirms my belief that winning races and winning the 'ship are only poorly correlated.
yep, not a strong correlation, which makes the weekly game fun for those who are not consistent and try to win it or bin it each week.
The other reason I like it is in the event someone gets a big lead early in the season, that player can add to their payday with weekly wins. Might encourage a riskier lineup, and if that backfires it will give everyone else an opportunity to get back in the mix. Like me lol
Funny how you spun it positive (and I like that take) and internally (due my attachment to the basic game probably simply because of years doing it) i viewed it negatively. In the interest of making the game funner for everyone, I do like the idea of a small bet/pool for each race.
I started off really strong and have shit the bed pretty heavily down the stretch... To be fair the last couple rounds I've been shooting for the moon betting on a marquez crash that hasn't materialized.
