Except being a not utterly fucking retarded businessman, he knows he can't compete in a cost-conscious consumer marketplace with outsourced pennies-on-the-dollar production costs.

So you level the playing field. Then you let the customer decide if they prefer buying USA-made products at similar price points vs overseas-made.

Except he's no longer a businessman and needs to lead by example as the President of the USA. Different priorities and responsibilities right?
If his priority is the profitability of his clothing line he shouldn't have run for office. Otherwise it's the same old same old.

Sorry the facts get in the way of your logic. He stated his priorities regarding his business conflicts during his campaign.

Like I said same old same old. You ignoring it makes you the "idiot" and is"Horseshit".

Was that supposed to be a link of some profound statement that would erase any semblance of logic and business acumen?

Cuz I'm thinking it's yet another fail from you.

Not a link. The underline was to remind you of the issue of Trump's priority shift from businessman to President. If you hadn't overlook that we wouldn't be wasting bandwidth right now. If you need a link to remember what he said then go find it yourself. I'm not going the fill in the gaps for you. That would make me an Idiot.:dead:

So he should tank his business before he levels the playing field on overseas imports?

Apparently, that's the only way for him to "walk the walk"...

Never mind any fiduciary duties he has to his investors. Or common sense for that matter.

While I can only speak for my specific field, I'm not sure how the tariffs are going to work out in anyone's favor. As an example:

    A 6" 90° mechanical joint bend import costs $42.96
    A 6" 90° mechanical joint bend domestic costs $85.55

In this scenario we are comparing ductile iron fittings, not sure how this would affect other things. If tariffs are applied, and the cost of the import fitting goes up to meet the domestic price, the cost to lay a water line infrastructure is going to increase dramatically. I am really curious how he logically plans to narrow this gap. Buy America is great and all until you realize the true costs that are involved with buying domestic.

The real funny thing is there are more reported failures per 1000 on domestic fittings than import fittings.

If Trump is supposed to not run his business during his term as president how exactly is he supposed to change where items are made? It's either all been signed over as his detractors want or he can change manufacturing as his detractors want - you can't get both...

That would be a no Bob. EO didn't do anything, Carrier still moved jobs to mexico, coal isn't coming back and tariffs will only cause the consumers to pay more for the product because they aren't going to eat the cost.

    Obamacare repealed? No
    Wall funded?: No
    Sanctuary cities punished? No
    Planned Parenthood defunded? No

    And now that spending bill?

Trump is far from a winning machine and the "swamp" is not getting drained. He is wallowing in it.

Funny you are blaming Trump. What did you expect from one man with the old guard GOP and DNC against him from the beginning.

When did levels of expectations become excuses? Before the election, I understood Trump was a politician and that politicians make promises that are not kept, some refer to this a lying which is fine with me. I also understood his own party was against him which lowere my level of expectations even more before the elections. Did you not understand this before voting?

    :stupid:
That cunt Obama went in with all kinds of promises and was going to change the world too. Now Trump is doing the same thing. I am not sure why people continue to support politicians when they are either:

    a) stupid and unprepared for the job they took
    b) a liar that had no intention of ever following through with their promises

What amazes me is the voting public for the most part is either too ignorant or too apathetic to care...
