Testament....theres a fine example of old dudes that not only rawk,but got harder as they got older.True American Hate from 2012 .
The new Slayer,although a little soft,but still stays crunchy in milk....STILL!!! harder than muhtallicuh 2cents

Exactly. Back in the day I covered a bunch of their old stuff playing in bar bands. I'm talking first three album stuff. Shit was tough to play. Metallica's new stuff has ALOT of the old school riffs and timing. You just have to be able to hear it. Plus they're still doing it at 50+ years old.

 

There are a thousand youtube vids of CHILDREN playing Metallica songs. LOL I like some of their stuff but let's not overstate their musicality.

 

This of course has absolutely nothing to do with whether Metallica sucks or not, but rock on'an all

It reminded me of my friends in high school trying to play speed metal, only slow, and without a sense of melody.

 

LuLu with Lou Reed was their absolute low point, if you ask me.

In my opinion, not sure which has less talent..Lou Reed or Bob Dylan.

 

Lou Reed.

Dylan couldn't carry a tune in a bucket full of adenoids, but he did sing.

 

Lou Reed is like Tom Waits. And Woody Allen. I don't understand any of it or the hype.

 

Just found my copy of "And Justice For All" CD. I saw them at the Bismarck Civic Center on that tour in 1989.
General Admission concert. I won my ticket off my local FM radio station for being caller number (whatever).
So, I went down with 3 of my buddies. We battled our way to the front of the stage barrier and anchored ourselves there.
Great show...LOTS of energy.

I have a bass pick I caught from Jason Newsted in the case with the CD.
