08 gsxr 1000 Basically Current set up is 25mm ohlins up front. Su788 ttx 1.0 rear. 520 chain/ sprox Jap yoshi 4 into 1 full system K+n filter Woolich racing ecu tune Brembo master I race a short track that is tight and bumpy. So all out hp isn't needed. Should i spend the coin getting my current ohlins bits updated and redone.. or sell them off and buy a newer version of the ttx and 30mm carts? Bazzaz tc to run in conjunction with the Woolich race tools ecu set up? Cam gears. Thin head gasket? Anything else i can do without going into fancy pistons and the like? V stacks? Different filter etc?? Basically i got around 3k to spend. I already give folks on bmws and apes greif at the track with my bike but would like to make it a bit easier for myself. Dont really think the budget would stretch to upgrading to a different bike however still Any ideas or suggesting to help keep my aging gixxer up toward the pointy end of the grid would be appreciated Cheers.joe.
keep the 25mm, don't "upgrade" to the 30m . i know many that thought the 25mm was better. zero need to do a thin gasket in your situation, especially if you aren't freshening motor. just too much money for too little gain when you have mega hp already. lightweight ballistic battery (save 5 lb) gpTech brake lever with remote adjuster.. if you have a suzuki master cyl, get a replacement master cyl with the remote brake lever adjuster. tires, tires, oh.. more tires. perhaps run race fuel if you want to actually feel a change in power. But seriously, you could spend $3k in tires pretty fast
Honestly it sounds like your pretty well set up as it is. If you feel you need something or that something could be better then look into that. I would not change your 25mm kit for the 30 but that's just me. If I was you I would get some tires and take a chunk of the money and surprise my wife with a long weekend getaway (something nice cause you have the cash) she is obviously cool and supportive of your hobby so if you don't need anything then give something back to her for being so awesome. That's my 2c anyway.
OK! Now here is a guy that knows how to butter the bread properly. Keep that woman happy by spend a good portion on her. She will smile and keep you happy.:up:
