I'm too big for an XR100. People who are still too big for XR100s but smaller than me can go faster on them than I can (probably unrelated to weight and more related to skill but it makes me sleep better). If you're an AMA pro racer it show's even when riding just pit bike. The Herrin's are good people (and can corner low) from Ma and Pa all the way down to the littlest one who would share her Nerds with me. The facilities at MGKT are top notch. Few dozen laps on an XR100 make my knees hurt. If you think no one saw you highside the XR100 because you were in the turn behind the barn... you'd be wrong and everyone in the pit somehow knows when you get back (Right Anne? Hahahah). Gooning an XR100 is still gooning... and just as fun! Front end chatter while at full lean on an XR100 at 10 mph sucks just as much as it does through turn 1 at Talladega (where I'm also probably doing 10 mph). I'm too big for an XR100. Videos to follow but for now a pic. http://www.middlegeorgiakarttrack.net/
Hey Hooey, If I was to get me an XR100, what mods would I need (within reason) to run the thang down there?
I love flogging my XR80. I look like the bear on a bicycle at the circus doing it, but I don't care. I need to put new rings in the 100 so I can play on it too.
I suppose I can email Phil & staff, but any idea if they're standard or GP shift? The idea of getting the wife on track on a small bike is appealing - plus a GA vacation would make her more apt to do it. She learned to ride on my bikes though, so she's never thrown a leg over a standard-shift bike. Not sure I'd do well switching back either!
