I know that garage well, ah the memories... what I can remember... (taking into account the long term loss of short term memory of course)
Rich, What's the story on those shocks? And what's up with the funky sideways rose joint on the bottom? Stan
Hi Stan, I bought these shocks for a project I did a couple of winters ago. Found them on Ebay from a guy in France (Lionel). The brand was NTC Nicetech. Nitrogen charged ,rebuildable, duel rate spring all for about $249.00. The little extender on the bottom was really pretty cool. With the provided screw in the bottom extenders, they sent 4,so it could be used as a clevis or eye. When I got them i cranked up the nitrogen to about 100#. Took them to Nelson and ran the crap out of them. Didn't do anything funny and seemed to stay the same for over 20 laps. So, I redoing an 81 XJ 750 and thought that these might be cool to put on.
Rich, any details on the shocks? Eye to eye length, spring rate, can the springs be replaced with something common if the rate is wrong, that sort of stuff.
Regnat, All I'm saying is that these are better than stockers,I've used them and that it's not a rip off. They're not Ohlins by any means. But they're at least as good,if not better, than some of the period pogo sticks I've raced on. Besides that, they're on sale this week. Je suis mort de rire!!! He's dead what?
I think you just got sniffed at... ...by the French, Rich... You got the French sniff of disapproval...
Il peut renifler tout ce qu'il veut, Graver est rapide comme l'enfer, son savoir-faire de constructeur et coureur est incontestable.
Rich Graver is so fast he could suck the Eiffel off the Tower... Hang on, that didn't quite work...Lemme take another run at that... Rich Graver is faster than the Wehrmacht circa. 1940... OK, I'm getting up to operating temp... If Rich Graver wants to put Gabriel Hijackers on the arse end of a Sears Allstate, I say, "O'tay!"
