In order for us to really dive in to the Riders Discount Honda Grom bike build, we needed swingarm spools so we could get a rear stand under the back end for extra support. The Race Stand Stopper kit from Yoshimura was an easy solution to our problem.

Stainless steel hardware is included with an anodized finish for looks that will last.

Note: An updated design has negated the need for the small screw above the washer pictured here.

Installation has only gotten easier as Yoshimura has recently updated the design so that drilling is no longer required. Simply remove the old stock swingarm end cover and reinstall the supplied Yoshimura brackets. Torque the spools on to the brackets and you are done!

Note: This step has been removed due to an updated design.

Now that we have the Yoshimura Race Stand Stopper kit installed, we can start tackling other projects. First up was giving the Grom a little more pep with a gearing change.

Stock gearing for the Grom is a 15T sprocket up front and a heavy 34T sprocket in rear. We went with 14T and 37T Renthal sprockets and a DID 420 gold chain to really make it stand out.

Removing the chain was easy as the stock chain uses a clip master link. Remove the clip, pull the master link, and the chain will come right off.

The sprockets were also pretty easy to change out. A lock washer on the front and 4 nuts on the back were all that need to be removed to change the sprockets.

The stock rear sprocket weighed in at 1.15lbs. The new Renthal sprocket shown here weighed in at .35lbs. Nearly a pound shaved off. That's a massive rotational weight savings.

One of the last steps is figuring out how long or short you want your chain. We went with 54 links as this placed the axle right in the middle of the adjustment blocks.

Install the clip into the master link and you are done!

Generally after installing a new chain it will stretch after a few rides. Be sure to keep tabs on your chain slack and adjust as necessary.

One of the more common mods on any two wheeled vehicle is removing the OE rear fender giving it a cleaner appearance. Available from Riders Discount, the Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator Kit does just that for your Grom.

    Before:

After (pictured with a Competition Werkes Integrated taillight, write up coming soon):

Four bolts, a couple electrical plugs, and the entire fender pulls off.

Stay tuned for more detailed write ups on the modifications we've done to our Honda Grom!

Along with installing the Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator kit, the Competition Werkes LED integrated tail light available from Riders Discount completes the job of cleaning up the tail section.

    Before:

    After:

Available in clear, smoke (pictured here), or red, this tail light combines the function of running light, brake light, and turn signals, all from one unit.

Comes with an OE plug for virtually plug n play installation. The turn signal wires will need to be spliced in to the stock wiring harness.

The left-center LED will remain on for approximately 30 minutes. This acts as a security light and draws on an internal capacitor, not the Grom's battery.

Additional note: Some customers have had success without needing a new flasher relay, however we did need one. Replacing the stock flasher relay located behind the headlight with flasher relay LL552 from your local auto part's store does the trick. This is with stock front turn signals still installed.

No MOTEC on this one, however, we do have a PCV waiting to be installed.

the pcV does not offer tuning to the closed loop side of the electronics, this will be a problem that needs to be over come for a COMPLETE TUNE. with Honda's ecu being "off limits", there will need to be some sort of add on or jumper to get through this dilemma.

    any ideas or thoughts? Ski

I'm not super concerned as we have run into this with the 675 and a few other bikes this last year with locked ECU's. It took a few different set ups working with Dynojet but we got everything figured out. The pipe and PCV will be installed next month and we will work on it then.

Are the stock rubber pegs not cutting it anymore? If you're feet keep slipping off or you just want more grip, check out the LSL Spiegler footpeg kit available from Riders Discount today.

The LSL Spiegler footpegs and fold up brackets are CNC machined from aircraft grade billet aluminum and then anodized for weather protection.

Pictured here are the Spiegler Racing Foot Pegs. These are 2-13/16" long with a knurling specifically designed to provide maximum grip while not tearing up your favorite boots. Also unique to the Spiegler pegs are the end knurl which provide superior grip while turning.

Also available are the race pegs at 2-3/4" long with a deep knurl, and standard pegs at 3-1/4" long with a shallower knurl.

You have your choice of the Spiegler Racing (pictured), standard, or race peg in silver, black, red, blue, gold, or titanium. Note the Spiegler Racing pegs are only available in black or silver.

Are you ready to get rid of those unsightly lollipop mirrors? CRG Arrow bar end mirrors are the way to go!

Arrow Mirrors are adjustable directly behind the reflective element itself, as well as on the post that holds it on your motorcycle’s handlebar.

This allows you to not only rotate the angle of the stem up or down with numerous detents, but also rotate the mirror itself into any orientation you desire.

A convex mirror gives you a wide viewing angle of the area behind you instead of just showing you what your elbows look like.

They can be mounted directly to the handlebars and only need 10mm of space for the clamp. If you do not want to move your controls inward to make room you can opt for the CRG Bar-End Adapters (sold separately).

Now available from Riders Discount is the Ohlins fork internal kit for your Honda Grom!

From the factory, the stock forks are not great. In fact, they are pretty terrible, especially for larger riders which cause the front end to constantly bottom out going over bumps or when applying the brakes. Installing the fork kit from Ohlins not only gives you better feeling up front with increased stability, but makes it an overall safer and enjoyable ride.

Complete internal kit with rods, valves, springs and billet fork caps with "Öhlins" laser etched around the top of the cap.

Ohlins includes detailed easy to read installation guide so to can install these yourself if you feel so inclined.

Adjustable pegs, premium hardware, folding toe pegs, and the option to switch from standard to reverse shift are just a few of the reasons to order the Driven TT rearsets from Riders Discount today. Also, these are considerably lighter than their stock counterparts weighing in at just under 3 lbs.

The linkage included allows you to flip from standard or reverse shifting. Reverse shifting is exactly how it sounds - instead of going up through the gears, it's the opposite from stock, you'll go down through the gears. 1 up, 3 down.

Adjustable 18mm up and back from stock ("0" position), these rearsets allow you to gain ground clearance for when you're carving up your hometown curves or the local mini-track.

Folding toe pegs means in the event of a crash these guys probably won't break off allowing you to keep on riding.

Best of all, Driven rearsets are designed and built in the USA.

Note: these do not include a rear brake light switch, be sure to ask about adding one to your order if you would like to have one.
