When was the last time you saw one of these?? I bought this as a streetbike insurance salvage in 1994 or so, started the project then life got in the way - or so I tell myself... Very rare 1982 chain drive Euro version XV920, in the silver/black paint. Been in my garage for the last 20 years or so. All stock, only 11,000+ miles, still has the original Bridgestone Mag Mopus tires. :wow: Custom 2/1 exhaust with Kerker can, super trick enclosed chain drive. I had ridden it several times back in the day, to work & such, all was well functionally from what I remember. Inside of the gas tank is clean, but it's dented on the RH side, holds gas. Needs: Tires, battery, etc., and had the usual older Virago starter issues... Overall OK shape, has an Ohio salvage title. Has not run in 18 years or so... No warranty!! I've been bitten by the Street Tracker bug, will sell or trade for a Yammie XS650.... $1000 USD Located in Cincinnati, Ohiya......
Turning an XS650 into any kind of tracker is too easy as it's been done to death. Turn that "sporty" Virago into one and you might have something.
That's why YOU NEED IT!!!! You would have the only one at QSL Bike night!!! Only imported in 81/82!!! RARE!!!!
My recollection is someone raced a similar model in BOTT back in the day. Honkin' motor, you just needed to get the thing to turn and not wobble too bad . . . . I think it would make a bad ass WERA Vintage racer for someone . . . . Too many "projects" here. I'm becoming cautious in old age. Cheers, Dave
Google "Lurch"..Built by Vernon Davis in Austin, raced at Daytona in 83,TWS in CRRC and by the Swartz at laguna. Later version by Vernon (and myself) had homebuilt aluminum frame with lots of engine mods..
how old is that picture. you probably need some leather work. I'm just down the road you know. does it have a spark? b bill
TX is way more cool than an XS http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3578067339.html If you buy this, I'll need a finders fee..
Bill; Picture is from last Spring/Summer. My Leathers are dead - I'm 52 now and they were from when I was 30 - they SHRANK!!! Bike has been dormant for about 18/20 years, but I did ride it several times back then. No idea if it has spark now....?? It would need a battery and maybe a starter to see if it had fire....
shrinkage yeah I'll be 62 soon and I can vouch for that shrinkage on the leathers thing. you still have that old Lou's suit? I'm thinking it's a 2 pc? I have a nice new BB suit here with all the armor in a 2 pc all black that will fit you ( I can make them fit) that I'd be willing to trade for that bike if you're interested . would include alteration if needed and name added. did I say it was black? all black . be hard to see you at night repoin' a bike. give me a holler and talk if you want to 859 336 7375 leave everybody else guessing. you still drag racing? thanks for the reply appreciate it. bill
its sister http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV7VELlPURY it would look good like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2HoFt3o2xI without looking, i don't think this bike would fare competitively in V, even if you could get the length down by 3 inches.
They put all that time into the bike in the 2nd video but they left those trashed ass tires on it. wtf
