Years ago, when I bought my first bike, I remember the salesman warning me about a special medical condition that afflicts bikers. MBS or multiple bike syndrome. I laughed it off then, secure in the knowledge that someone as frugal as me would never get the disease. Fast forward to today: I was at the local Ducati/Triumph dealership and I overhead the salesman telling a wide-eyed but skeptical first-time customer about MBS. "Holy Guacamole," I said to no one in particular, "I have a bad case of MBS."

 

Holy Guacamole, cool story.

 

LOL I had 3, a roadracer/streetbike, a dirt tracker, and a motocross bike in my senior year in college, 40 years ago. It's not MBS if you have less than a dozen in the garage.

It is real though, haven't had less than 6 in the garage since 2001.

 

I'm at a 4 year low of two at my senior year of college.

Don't think it will last long.

 

I have three. None street legal.

One A-SS legal.

Two for the dirt. Neither over 125cc.

 

We should start a $1 million campaign for research into a cure for MBS! What would the theme be? Livestrong is taken and tainted. How about Ridestrong?

I had 7 in my garage a few months ago.

 

I thought 2 was enough of a headache to winter prep....

 

shit... if you suffer from MBS you should be entitled to preferred financing and first right of refusal of new model purchases.
I want to purchase a new zx14 to finally own a 200hp bike from an OEM.
It will probably turn out like my gixxer with a shitload of $$$ invested and no mileage on it.

 

I believe that as long as you claim you're willing to sell at least one (making it a business), you're not afflicted. That counts even if nobody is willing to agree to your price for the one that you'd supposedly sell.

Most I ever had was 11. To tell the truth, anytime I get over 8 or so I get a little ADHD/overwhelmed and start selling shit to get back to what I consider a normal level - around 4-6.

 

Trust me its not all that impressive. Half of them are in 100 pieces. Ive got 3 RD125's that don't run!

 

I am at 5 and parts. Non are street legal and non over 100 cc yet.

 

I'm at 5 and an old busted up Polaris Trail Boss. I definitely have MBS but I've managed to control it. That ZX14 idea is giving me the shakes though.

1 is street legal. The next bike I add (SV650) will also not be street legal.

 

I'm at 3... gsxr 600 track, gsxr600 street, xr80 pit bike.

 

And then there's the related disease MHS, or Multiple Helmet Syndrome. Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Randomwalker and I have MBS and MHS. There...that feels so much better!
