^ Nice pic. We'll see if Dani keeps the streak alive, and if Horhay can stretch some more life from a motor.
Nope. He's on his last 'fresh' engine. Yamaha's been rotating the remaining motors in practice sessions to squeeze some more life out. It'll be interesting. If he ends up starting from pit lane at some point because of a 7th motor, that could determine the championship - which would be 'meh', imo.
I tend to agree; although I understand why the rules are what they are, in this case the rider's penalized because of something that happened beyond their scope. Doesn't matter who the rider is, if they're in contention the thought of being penalized this late in the game because somebody wrecked them earlier in the season is a bit of a bummer.
Yeah, I understand the rule. It just seems that at that level of racing a rider shouldn't have to worry about engine life or have to race on a tired engine.
No doubt; that's why it should be left as prototype, run whatcha got and what ya can fix-type racing, imo. Spec this and that, and you can only have this much of that? Meh. Not for the topmost MotoGP class, anyhow.
And it's a beautiful day, business-as-usual in Sepang at the moment. image courtesy: Team Tech 3 -jim
Seriously? An hour or so of sunshine and you could be out there on slicks. Drains and dries like a mofo. Afternoon monsoonal rains are common. Even with all that water, I'll betcha the track temp is still around 90F.. -jim
How 'green' is the track feeling after something like that? Easy to dial in for, or does it still take time to build up to? (Just picturing local tracks and how they feel after rain like that)
Seems like it's only too green at the Winter tests, unless they have long-term sustained rain. Haven't looked at radar yet. -jim
