OK, need quick advice. My wife bought our son the other version of this camera 4 days ago and paid $150 for it. I think it's just called the HD. Is this bascially the same thing for $60 less and how hard is it to ship something back that you bought off Amazon?

If it was shipped and sold by amazon it's pretty easy, I've had nothing but good experiences with their CS. Log on to your account, say you want to return it, print label and ship back.

 

Not sure I can answer your question about shipping it back, but I can give something to consider before you do that.

The version your wife purchased is a very good camera (I have one). It offers some things that the ROAM version does not, such as 60 frames per seconds (fps) when in 720p HD. I know next to nothing, but I understand that this helps to provide higher quality videos especially with high speed action sports like ours. Oh and it will help reduce that shaky video effect. Someone who knows all about is stuff may chime in. I was told fps is more important then having 1080p over 720p HD.

Also, the one you have comes with a 2GB memory card. The ROAM deal does not come with a memory card. You'll need one to record video. The SD cards are fairly inexpensive.

Basically what I'm saying is that what you have is quality at a value, I paid $249 for mine last year this time and unless you are really in need of 60 bucks, I'd say stick with it.
