450 supersingle $5000
This is my 2005 CRF450R built as a 450 supersingle. I'm asking $5000, although I would entertain trades for an Aprilia SXV550 or Husky 510SMR. I've raced it the past two seasons (7 rounds total, along with 4 trackdays) in the WERA 450 supersingle class, Clubman, and D superbike with no DNF's (mechanical or crashes). It has about 13 hours of run time on the top end. Bike has been maintained by myself and Mark Klein at Hyperformance cycles. Before I give it to any buyer, the bike will be inspected to ensure wear items are in good shape. I also have all the dirtbike parts if I have a buyer who wants to turn it back into a dirtbike or supermoto. Other specs are below.
2005 Honda CRF450R Weight: 241 lb wet Power: 45 hp 34 ft-lb Suspension Front: 2007 CBR600RR inverted forks, lengthened, re-valved and resprung Suspension Rear: 2005 CRF450R rear shock, shortened, re-valved and resprung Wheels: F 3.5”x17”; R 5”x17” Brakes: Single 310mm rotor and radial mount four piston caliper from a 2007 CBR600RR, Brembo 16×18 Radial Brake Master Cylinder Exhaust: Custom unit by Britt Lynn Controls: Woodcraft CBR600RR clipons, Yamaha R6 rearsets with custom adaptor plates Bodywork: Sharkskinz RS250 upper, lower, and tail: CBR600RR Front Fender, 1000RR Tank Cover. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More on the build here |

The bike enthusiast in me says yes, but the practical side of me says no. I guess that leaves me at maybe.
The kickstarter doesn't clear the brake pedal, so it's in a box in my garage. It hasn't been bad to bump start. I had a set of rollers, but it's easier for me just to give it a push and jump on. Let me know if you want any other pictures of it. I have pictures from every side, with and without bodywork. |

Not sure what happened to the photos on the hosting side of things, and I'll have to wait until I get home from work to fix them. The same pictures are in the link at the bottom of the first post, though. Also, there's a video of the bike at little Tally in the Youtube thread in the General section.

how is the reliability with a bike like this

I haven't had too many problems with it since the engine is in relatively stock form. I had a chain break a few months ago because the chain endures quite a beating from the tire. It broke off a piece of the shift drum and bent the shift shaft a little, but both items were replaced before the GNF. The chain started showing more wear when I switched to the Michelin DOT rear, since it seems to be a little wider than the 250GP slicks or supermoto tires that I had been running. I probably would have kept running the supermoto rear, except the bike was so easy on tires that I just ran my SV takeoffs all season. That doesn't mean that nothing else will ever happen as it is a racebike. I would expect the reliability to go down if someone were to try to build the motor. However, for comparison, Geoff Maloney's stock engined YZ450 supersingle at GP Tech has close to 40 hours of time on it, with only oil changes and valve checks for maintenance (that's with some fast guys riding it too).

mid month bump. I may also consider trades for similarly valued 600s (must have a clean title, though).

Lovin' your super single. I've been living in Costa Rica for the past 5 years and we've got a killer track here. I teach a bit at the track and used to race a little twins and some 2smoke stuff in WERA back when.
I'd love to show these guys what a Cool bike really is. Give a call to my shop around 10am your time if you can. I have a Vonage phone based out of ATL. in my shop. 678-528-7789 I also have a magicjack line at my house if you're still up. 954-338-5537. Everyone knew my as Johnny B. and I ran the number 606 if you want to check with Mongo,Sharon or Evelyn of WERA. Paul Wright of Marmo and KTM World should give me a good reference. let's talk. Thanks, John |

Is it still for sale? could you send contact information please. In your honest opinion will the motor last another season. 13 hours doesnt sound like a lot of time. I know this is a loaded question. I just dont have a lot of experience with the 4 stroke dirt motors. If it was a 2 stroke I would have a better personal opinion. Dont care what your answer is. I just need to know what we will have to put in the bike. It looks pretty well done. Got late start from sponsors this year so we are scrambling. I am very interested in running the WERA 450's and your bike would make it a hole lot easier even if we had to source a new motor. New paint and we could be tesing. Oh what weight is it sprung for? I didnt see that.
