1985 RS250RW Prime example for sale

    Restored 1985 RS250RF-5140 (ND5)
    Matching numbers.

    Almost Completely original;

    • New painted fairings, with factory ‘’Honda marketing brochure’’ paint scheme, and windscreen
    • Original D.I.D. Comstar flat spoke 18’’ wheels with original paint, and proper NOS Dunlop’s KR’s
    • Newly Nikasiled cylinders
    • Crankshaft with about 400km’s freshly installed (july 2009)
    • New Wiseco modified pistons (all data available to track future orders)
    • New exchangeable insert type heads, with proper squish, CC’s, and volume.
    • ATAC & NON-ATAC exhaust manifolds: ATAC fully restored & operational and installed.
    • All new bearings & seals on entire bike: Steering head, wheels, rear shock linkages, swing arm, shock linkage,etc…
    • Period correct 3 spoke 17’’ Magnesium Marvic’s, freshly powder coated mounted with new Michelin’s & original discs
    • Cleaned & powder coated (special exhaust powder coat) kit expansion chambers with new silencers. Extra new pair of carbon fiber silencers
    • All screws on entire bike, Zinc plated,
    • Zinc plating on sprockets.
    • 3 extra sets of original HRC expansion chambers
    • 2 full new sets of High tension Carbon tech reeds with extra reed cages
    • PJ38 Carbs fully serviced, and rebuilt.
    • New radiator shroud
    • Frame polished (All cast parts were kept with a cast finish)
    • New Speigler braided brakes lines
    • New seals in master cylinders
    • Front calliper rebuilt with new seals & dust boots, and rebuilt bleeder seat
    • New throttle & clutch cables (Original extra cables as spares)
    • New handle bars & grips (original Honda design)
    • New DID 520-ERV3 Chain
    • Front & rear suspension fully rebuilt ; seals etc…(170lbs rider approx)
    • Top bracket of fork seals is now modified to take standard 41mm seals (still have the original seals & steel bushings)
    • Black powder coated front forks.
    • New Tachometer (Stock original one as spare)
    • New foam dash
    • HRC original footrests (Euro spec) & many original (USA spec) as spares
    • Refurbished original HRC brake, and shifter pedals
    • Full parts book (2 books for 1985, 1 book for 1986 model). Also the second edition manual including kits, and modifications for ND5 models. 4 manuals total


    FULL provenance History & set-up sheets: All history from 1990-1995 (when bike retired)
    Documented 1994 250GP (Am.) class winner
    Some of the original 86 (first year on the circuit for this machine) setup sheets, and history, including riders, times, for Daytona, Elkhart Lake, etc…
    Original rear stand.

    • 1 Extra crank (Broken main bearing) : NOS crank installed.
    • One extra set of heads & cylinders (needs to be replated)
    • About 8 used pistons
    • Extra new rings (A few sets bought NOS bought in 2008 for 200$ +)
    • Extra set of reed valve assembly with brand new Carbon Fiber reeds
    • Original Nylon reeds
    • Spare generator
    • Spare water pump
    • 3 sets of expansion chambers & many used aluminium silencers
    • Carburetor jets : Every single one available! All Needles, and all carb spares
    • About 30 spark plugs (Special short design at about 75 $ a plug!!!)
    • Front & rear sprockets (3 front & about 12 rears)
    • Cylinder O rings: 30-50
    • Base gaskets 8 approx.
    • NOS brake pads front & rear
    • Engine seals +++
    • Extra levers
    • Extra choke lever
    • Motor mount bolts

    So you can extrapolate with the spares, the provenance, history & documentation...

    But you know what, after not only rebuilding it, but also sourcing the right parts, and if nothing was available, actually reproduced parts myself, and all the other efforts in this bike, I decided I can't let it go...

    i fully understand the desire to hang onto it...
    so it's a bike in the neighborhood of appx. $25,000 dollars
