It's here! http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/10/officially-official-bmw-unleashes-all-the-details-on-s-1000-rr/
Saw this yesterday on MCN after waiting a long time to see the bike... following it since the earliest speculation on it's development... and uh... Wtf is with BMW headlights? I've seen so many people say "man, it'll be a sweet bike, just hope BMW doesn't put some weird-ass headlights on it" and look what they did... http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bmw_s_1000_rr_06.jpg I don't doubt the performance is there though
Good point. Those headlights look ridiculous from the front - they should've made them both look like the rounder lefthand light style. I'm real curious to see how the thing performs in production trim though and what the final U.S. price point will be.
Matching headlights of the one on the right would have looked decent. That set up makes it look like a retarded step child.
I think the round headlights on both sides would have looked excellent. Or even better, a larger, but identically shaped round one on the left side to keep BMW's lopsided headlights thing. One round headlight and one "normal" headlight looks really strange though. It think it looks like it has a twitchy eye infection this way.
Have to admit.. I like that http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/bmw_s_1000_rr_10.jpg
I think its more fun to rip thru the gears on a 600 than have to shut down that beast in second gear while going well over 100mph.Talking street use here.
Autoblug is speculating price somewhere around $15,000. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/19/whats-german-for-bargain-bmw-s-1000-rr-superbike-to-be-price/
Dude, I was screaming at the TV for Xaus to finish well today, they'll get there in race trim. But we're talking street trim here, and it's ugly.
