F/S: 2005 KTM 525 EXC Supermoto

2005 KTM 525 EXC Supermoto: $5000
Bike is in Crossville, TN

Started out as a brand new 525 EXC and had the following parts added:

KTM Hardparts slipper clutch
9-pin quick disconnect headlight
Scotts stabilizer bracket (no damper)
quick disconnect tail light
Brembo master cylinder
Braking 320mm wave rotor
4-piston traditional mount caliper
KTM SX cam
Scaryfast Accelerator pump cover
Powernow adapter
Powernow plus adapter
KTM anondized bar end sliders
PG graphics (white/orange camo)
WERA wired

Brief history:
Bought this bike a few years ago to learn corner speed, by far the best bike I have ever owned. Had David Farris at Sportcycle KTM (Maryville, TN) build it and he did the quick disconnects for me since I also rode this on the track. One 9-pin disconnect completely removes the front headlight/turn signal assembly and two disconnects take care of the rear. The bike can go from street to track in literally 5 minutes.

This is the 6-speed transmission which it absolutely needs (I had a 550 Aprilia with a 5-speed and despised it). Suspension works just fine and is at the standard EXC height. I thought about lowering it but after dragging the footpegs thought that it would just be a waste of time. I did, however, change the rear spring to the next higher stiffness but at the moment the actual number escapes me. I weigh 175 naked and the only time I ever got the front end to chatter was in one specific turn at Deal's Gap. Go figure.

I can't remember the gearing, I think it's 16/43, but I did it that way so 6th gear is basically overdrive. It's been to Nashville, VIR North, South, Patriot, and Barber and never had it get close to the limiter. It would pull 42 but it was sluggish.

Bike has under 6000 miles on it and as far as the engine goes it still runs just as well as ever. Put synthetic oil in it and changed it after every trackday, I think I even have a few filters left for it I'll throw in.

I'd really like to sell it because I haven't ridden it other than around the block in about a year. If you've got any more questions just let me know. Probably the best way to get in touch with me is dixiecragger@hotmail.com but I'll check on here as well.
