If they go seamless, that thing's gonna cost a fortune !

Apparently they’ve been successful with reverse engineering the Honda.

Hasn't Honda had it on the VFR sport-tourer for a couple years now?

I think the main-stream motorcycle purchase breaking point is $16-$18K max. Otherwise you are targeting a smaller audience. They will have to find a way to keep it in that price point otherwise its a bust.

The VFR had a dual clutch gearbox IIRC. Not the same thing as seamless.

Your title of this thread and first post is misleading.

They MAY redesign. Not that they are.

Maybe they will trade the seamless gearbox from Honda, and Yamaha will provide a winning motor to Honda..

Well, they submitted patents so I would think its a little further along then "may"

I hope they include all of the plastic bodywork on this new model....

Hopefully they will redesign and strengthen the crank. I'm not sure if it's as widespread as they make it sound.....but it seems like EDR is seeing an inordinate amount of track-going (even bone stock, non modified) examples of the cranks failing.

It is comical you think the VFR's gearbox is the equivalent to a prototype inspired transmission which was the last major development before aero came into the picture.

A year later and still no more info? You guys are letting me down.
6 or 7 months away from new model release and no one has spilled the beans. Does that mean there will be no major changes for 2021???

They literally just released the Euro 5 version with minor body work tweaks and BNG good for another 3 years minimum
