Toprak - Rinaldi - Rea take the top spots of FP1. Baz a respectable 11th on the GoEleven Duc in FP1. Right on terms with Bassani. Gerloff 9th
GG is top independent rider in both sessions, so not bad. Huge crash by Bautista, but he walked away from it. The Honda mechanics have to be relieved that they won't have to be rebuilding his bikes again next year.
Anybody want to talk about how Kenan Sofuoglu is six tenths off the pace in just two practices after not riding a 600 for years? The competition was just reminded how lucky they are that he retired.
Has he truly not ridden on track for years or has he been doing coaching on track? I know it isn't the same as racing, but it will help keep your skills fresh. Either way, I would say what he achieved today is impressive.
He said his training has been limited to R3s and go karts since he stopped racing. It's incredibly impressive that he was able to jump on a 600 and get to the pointy end in two sessions. I know he claims that he is done racing, but I wonder if (and hope!) he'll do a wildcard or two when the 636 is homologated next year.
I have a feeling Redding will be back on top this weekend. Should be some good racing. BSB start of the showdown this weekend. Will be some Awesome racing. Looks like it will be either Jason or Taz. Would love to see Hickie win it. Also Michael Dunlop is racing in BSB this weekend. So many of the TT boys racing in various BSB classes.
