POLE POSITION: Right LENGTH: 4.592 Km CORNERS: 15 RIGHT CORNERS: 9 LEFT CORNERS: 6 All times are Eastern What with MotoAmerica, MotoGP and World SBK, it's gonna be a busy weekend
So much racing this weekend. I'm not going to get any sleep! I think we'll have the same folks up front with wins being shuffled.
Gerloff in front of his teammate again and knocking on the door of the top 10. Top independent rider outside of the considerably more experienced Rinaldi and Baz. Right where he needs to be. If he can improve over the weekend and pick off a couple more of the factory bikes that is gravy.
There's WSBK this weekend too?! Jeez: MotoGP, MotoAmerica, F1, *and* WorldSBK, all on a weekend when I'm riding at Road ATL! Gonna be busy!
Has GG ever been to this track? I know that pros are supposed to learn tracks quickly, still, it's got to be factor.
Very tight at the front! I think Gerloff tested there in the original offseason. I’m sure he’s still learning. He’s close enough to be competitive during a race. Maybe not with the top few, but 6-10. Anyone know how different the Ten Kate R1 is from factory R1 or GRT Yamaha. I know TK uses a 2020 spec but don’t know much beyond that. Clearly Baz is dialed in with that bike. I also wonder how Beaubier’s new Attack R1 compares? Aside from spec tire is there any meaningful difference in MA and WSBK rules? Just out of curiosity.
Rinaldi is rolling. Yamahas up front. Kawi ducati and BMW are in touch. Should be a good race weekend.
Ten Kate is allegedly a factory bike being operated by a privateer team. The GRT bike is still running the slower 19' motor and also appears to be a 19' bike altogether if you look at the older bodywork alone.
I always wondered how they can possibly keep those things on the ground at Portimao, and what would happen when one takes off. I guess we found out today with VdM.
Rea is a machine and I love watching him but part of me wants to see Topeka win more. He has a great style and I hope he gets a chance at moto gp. Kinda reminds me of Simoncelli’s style.
