Well that part of my statement invited him to go to another country.. I did not say to stay, a visa and a work permit would allow you to get some first hand experience with another political and economic system...

Now READ ON,, I did not tell him to apply for citizenship, that would have inferred the "love it or leave it", Mr. Doyle tried to accuse me of, it is a sinister thing this twisting of meanings, this is a perfect example of what the media does, (both sides) GET THE PICTURE NOW

We all react strongly to positions at times myself included, this includes obvious tongue-in-cheek statements….

At times some seem more interested in twisting what is said and assailing the ethnicity, locality, or background of a participant than the subject / issue at hand in order to “WIN” or to somehow disqualify a participant….

This is a tactic that the “Juvenile” Mr. Doyle is well versed in, just you’re run of the mill pugilistic sandlot bully…

Come on, you accuse me of being silly, where is the Socialist bosom of the US? could that be what I was talking about, it would be NORTH of MD…., and as far as the visa and work permit goes, last time I checked a visa was necessary to enter MOST of the socialist country's even for a visit, and if your going to experience the down side of property seizure, try working some while your there. As I said in the previous post to PAPA, I would have told thane to apply for citizenship if I was inviting him to GET OUT,,,,

You’re a deep thinker there Mr. Doyle, bait and barb all you want.

DAM AMAIZUN I GOT THAT THERE HIGHSPEED NET THINGY ALL THE WAY OUT HERE IN THE DOUBLE WIDE....

And I see that I have gradidated all the way from the 50's to the 60's now YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWWW

Sorry to be away so long; can't play when I'm at work. Anyway...

Effective communication is the responsibility of the speaker and the listener. So, although I too at first heard Yamaha Fan's statement as that same old tired love it or leave it rhetoric, I now understand from reading clarifying statements that this was a far more sophisticated version that suggested that I experience the results of socialism to learn the error of my thinking.

In the spirit of clarification, let me refine my earlier statement. I did not say that I wished to sieze and redistribute wealth. I've listened to enough folks on the right to be able to list a fair number of evils that such a move would bring about. What I intended to say was that I've harbored a few fantasies. Those fantasies are motivated by the notion that a day laborer is not worth many thousands of times less than a CEO and therefore should not make many thousands of times less than a CEO.

...and I apologize to Brad for not being rude, inflammatory, or mean in my statements.

I can say that I don't disagree with that perspective, I may have miss-interpreted what you were saying and for that I apologize…

I think there are quite a few CEO’s that do NOT earn their pay…. and for that matter it goes deeper than the CEO’s at many companies, it is also rampant within the government altough there is not the excess on the compensation side..

as someone who knows corporate america, you don't get to be CEO without earning it. it's not an easy feat. ;)

True, but many that arrive at that position they treat it as their personal coronation and trample on the responsibility of the position….

true, but most people who earn that position wouldn't. the CEO's of enron and such did not act alone, and prolly are singled out due to bad management on the reporting side. :)

Fair to say that a CEO earns his position. Equally fair to say that people who become CEO's always or nearly always have desirable demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our president was good enough to acknowledge that his background helped get him where he is. From my humble position, I am good enough to acknowledge that a lot of hard work went into it also. To become a CEO, one virtually always needs both the background AND the balls.

    All good, Yamaha Fan.
