I upgraded to the latest version (1903) of Windows 10 and my TV won't speak to my laptop anymore. I can't seem to be able to play video files stored on the laptop from the TV.

Could it be something about CODECS, and what's a safe pack to download? Thanks.

I have no clue but I hate Windows with a passion even more this morning. Fucking thing did an update when Emily shut down Saturday night and the scoring program wouldn't work Sunday... That is with updates turned off.

What output are you using between laptop/tv? If it’s hdmi it could be something related to copyright protection.

That question is above my pay grade. There is no physical connection between the laptop and the TV. It goes through my router. Did I answer the question right?

Can't you just watch porn directly on your laptop?

So it seems every time they push an update they turn Windows Firewall back on, which causing havoc for a lot of people. If you're pushing from the laptop to the TV its probably miracast or chromecast, right?

Check to see if its enabled for Private Network, and if so, turn it off. Then make sure your home wifi is specified as a Private Network by going to the properties of the wifi connection.

This last update or two almost has me snapping this bitch in half.....my laptop REFUSES to completely shutdown OR go into sleep mode. It just hangs up requiring me to do a hard shutdown and restart 99% of the time...it's frustrating beyond belief....if anyone has a solution gimme a shout. :D

if you have win10 pro or higher you can shut off updates via group policy, google it. win10 home does not allow this.

you could try to download VLC player, it may be more casting friendly. i only have chrome cast at home, not sure about other stuffs like the samsung miracast or apple suck.

Miracast is a standard, not brand specific.
