Now as opposed to 2000? I'm asking mainly to the folks that voted in 2000, if he wasn't your choice then, (Over Bush?)why now? The question for those that did vote for him then, but won't now: Why not?
Ding, we have a winner... This presidential nominees brought forth by the Elephants has been very disappointing. Unfortunately i see this being a recurring night mare for many many decades to come. Lets not forget that the Democrats nominees havent been bastions of political enlightment. They're pretty bad too... They need to simplify the office of the presidency. There are way to many issues on their plate making the "perfect cantidate" impossible for either side. There needs to be a major power transfer back to the states... but we all know thats never going to happen ever. So we'll just have to enjoy all the lame duck presidents on both sides until we have a revolution of sorts.
I was just thinking this myself. A lot of us (Or rather some) didn't see our candidate get the nomination, or their favorite didn't run. So the question for you is this: Who would you rather see running (Rep and/or Dem) for 2008?
I don't think you guys really want enlightenment (or serious change) from a right wing candidate.. All the right wing electorate really wants is lower taxes, a huge military budget and flag lapel pins. Did I miss something? Oh yeah. Cheaper gas.
Atleast they are legitimate "wants". Of course republicans could go the Democrat route and just want someone, anyone, as long as they are running against a republican. Seems like that is a great way to effect hope and change.
Whats so bad about wanting to keep what you earn and not end up giving it to people who dont deserve it? Whats so bad about wanting the gov't to butt the hell out of your business??? Socialism dosent work, its shown to be effective in destroying countires socially and economically. Don;t tell me that these "new ideas" and all this "hope" and "change" isnt just rob from the rich and give to the poor... e.g. socialism. I DONT want enlightenment to come from my gov't and i dont think pandering to social causes and people who cry all the time makes any sense at all... so go ahead, tell me im stupid, uncultured, heartless, a bigot, arrogant, blah blah blah... it falls on deaf ears.
You won't get lower taxes from either of the candidates. If one of them promises it, don't vote for this liar.
I think the biggest challenge facing the next president will be trying to pull the country out the recession and balance the budget. Right now the party in charge has spent us into the poor-house.
Didn't the latest numbers released on the second quarter show increased economic growth? Granted it wasn't huge numbers but growth is still positive..............right?
People did not think that McCain was good enough to chose over the guy who turned out to be arguably the worst president anybody remembers. And now he gets to be president.
Yep a regular bull market. All I'm saying is we have a 462 billion projected deficit and that spending will need to be addressed.
I'm guessing because McCain has changed his position on so many key issues in order to attract the GOP base while not losing the moderates.
because he's young, black, damn sexy and a pseudo rock star. oh wait that's the other guy. Nader in '08 bitches!!!
Hasn't Obama proposed lower taxes for the middle class, and an increase for those making $250k+? I thought I heard that somewhere.
A: So if the tax system was changed to let the middle 1/3 of Americans keep an extra $5000 per year, and the top 1/3 kept $5000 less, would that be "Socialism"? B: If the system was changed to let the top 1/3 keep $10,000 more, and the middle 1/3 keep $10k less... would that be an improvement over where we are today? C: What should we call it when the top 1/3 keeps getting to keep more and more and everyone else stays about the same?
