Thinking of painting my wheels white this season but worried about the work to keep them clean. However, I’ve thought about getting them ceramic coated which would make the maintenance much easier. Who has white wheels? Do you regret it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had them on an F2 back in the day and those things were a pia to clean with the spoke design...I’d piss @Gorilla George of even more by having the front wheel white and the rear wheel a dark color.
No regrets. Easy peasy, if one keeps up on them. I use a 50/50 mix of Simple Green/water and soak them after every few rides, then, rinse. I do the same when I wash the bike, with the addition of a wash mitt and scrub, then, Honda Polish the wheels afterward. The bodywork gets Jax Wax carnuba. And, as mentioned by another, some Honda wheels can be a PITA, if not kept up. These spokes are pretty deep channels and are the first area to collect grunge.
White wheels will make it easier to see faults and cracks in them. That’s one plus to having them white.
Thank you. Always wanted one of these and was finally able to have one. It’s been stripped to the frame and completely gone through. I had to replace the engine in my Silverado (complete valvetrain failure) and painted the replacement engine Chevy orange. It’s amazing how much easier it is to see everything underneath, now. I’m guessing, that’s why many marine engines and engine rooms I’ve seen are white/light colors?
Thank you. Lost all faith in Chevrolet, with this deal. 99K miles, with full-syn oil changes every 6K miles, should never experience catastrophic failure. This truck has been meticulously cared for and never abused. Yet, the engine lost all oiling above the crank and wiped out everything up top, which resulted in a pile of debris in the pan. It had always carried more than 40psi. Oh well. Still cheaper than a new one.
had them on my 01/600gsxr, hated them.....Dirty on the street, packed w rubber marbles during track duty. Traded them off for a set of black ones, from a race buddy. Wheels are made to get dirty, and still look good. White can't do both
And the routine of wiping them down means you’ll also be inspecting them on a regular basis. I have white Marvics and I am fastidious about this.
I have metallic silver (it’s close to white kinda) with a coat of clear on the top...wipe em down after each use and never a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
