Where does the RC51 get its name?

    It does not apply to the RC51 the way it does with the V-4s. Per VIN the RC51 is SC45.

    Yeah, I went back and looked in the Honda Motorcycle Identification Guide. 500-600 look like they are PCs and 650-899 are RCs.

    The RC designation for factory racers may actually be Racing Chassis but the only documentation i have refers to production bikes and the VDN.

    Anybody know?

    Some guy (or guys) in Japan makes up the model names. Seriously.

    How else do you explain something being called "Hayabusa"?

    Also a WW2 warplane, and a new rocket they're working on. But why name a bike after a bird? Because somebody thought it was a good idea.

    Obviously I'm not up to speed with Japanese rocket technology. However I have have a daughter who knows how to operate a Patriot missile battery. :D
