What's happening at SUMMIT????

I went up there today as the storms were hitting. Bought tires from the Pirelli guys and heard news of big winds coming. Never happened so gave my buddy a tour of the track since everything was on hold waiting for the storms to pass.
Ended up down in Turn 1 as the sun came out and they were trying to dry the track. Watched the dryer go through and went out to look at the track up close.
Sean came through shortly thereafter and we had a brief conversation.
My congrats to WERA for the right decision to not race on that surface at that time. You all are in very good hands.

 

If we were in good hands Summit would not be on the schedule.

 

Hey now! Summit is only 3 hrs from me, as opposed to 6 hrs to VIR and more to everywhere else. I'd rather race it as is than give it up!

After a few minutes of that, someone tapped Mongo on the shoulder and took his beer from his swinging hand... oh what good times!
