My current street (road) bike is an 09 gsxr1000. I am considering getting rid of it. It’s just too tempting and easy to be a complete hooligan and seriously break the law. I’m also looking for something with cruise control that is comfortable for longer trips, that said I still want something exciting. Maybe a naked sport bike?

What street (road) bikes do you all ride and what would you change about them?

This (H2 SX SE) has cruise control and is pretty exciting. Pretty comfy, but it's not a goldwing. I love mine.

My favorite ride is a Husky SMR 450. You are not going touring anywhere on it but considering you max out around 100mph (downhill with a tailwind) I think it will keep me out of too much trouble plus its a ball to ride. I have found that I prefer the smaller displacement bikes to ride for fun. My RC390 is a ball. For touring I have an older BMW R1100RT. It handles remarkably well considering its weight and you can get a really nice one for less than $4,500.00. SWMBO and I enjoy riding that together.

I can't get over the pricetag. We're getting into some car-type money there.

My main ride right now is an 04 FZ1 that could be considered the last of the "normal" motorcycles. That is...zero aids. I love it for the purity of an old school motorcycle but I'm ready to enter the 21st century. That said, since I sold my old GS a couple weeks ago I'm on the prowl myself. ADV wise, the Super Tenere and newer GS ring a lot of bells, but an FJR1300 would be pretty sweet too. The new Yamaha Tracer 900GT looks quite interesting. It has all of the new technology that my FZ1 lacks. I think I'm putting off my purchase of another bike until I see one of these in person.

2015 Yamaha FJ-09 with complete suspension overhaul. Does everything great. Kind of a budget Multistrada that's reliable. You can get a cruise control for these bikes.

Forgot about the Grom! Stupid fun but probably not going to be good for my license.

Not sure we'll be getting the Tracer GT over here. Yamaha has made no announcements yet, as far as I know.

How are they on the highway I was looking at the FZ09 and fz07. Do they have cruise control on them? How is the build quality? I’ve heard they use mostly outdated sportbike parts, any truth to that? I’ve never actually seen one in person. I could probably do an even trade for one with my current gsxr so that would be a plus.

They both are great at highway speeds, except for the absence of wind protection. If you want some protection, go for the FJ/Tracer. Roughly the same bike, but better setup for touring.
