    Well, rat's. I just heard that John Glenn has passed away. He was 95. An American hero for sure.

    Rest in Peace.

    RIP to one of my childhood heroes. Growing up in the 60s the space program was the stuff of dreams.

    The Right Stuff was one of my favorite movies, going to have to give it another watch shortly if not tonight. Those guys were all real heroes. For him to pass the day after Pearl Harbor Day is quite interesting considering that event was an initial call to action for him.
    Just sad. I hope Buzz isn't next, considering he is still recovering in the hospital.

    The success rate for the Atlas rockets when Glenn launched (sitting atop an Atlas rocket) was a touch over 50%. I recall reading they had just watched two of them explode in the months prior.
