Well, he is hooked. My 6yr old first road race and now I need some gear.

Well, that didn't take long. Took my 6yr to Circleville to race with omrl for his first time yesterday. He's raced his 4 wheeler a couple years but just didn't click and I think he was intimidated by the jumps and everything.

So yesterday we were lucky enough to get hooked up with a couple that let him use there extra bike and gear.
I wasn't sure how he do, hes a pretty decent athlete, but just doesn't have the mental confidence when hes doing new stuff. That was until yesterday, it just clicked for him. Best way I can describe it was it just came natural to him. I wont go into a long Brome speel, but he was able to get two 5th places out of 7 riders and biggest thing was able to take 3 sec off his fastest lap time from race 1 to race 2. We have along way to go, but man I'm pumped. Finally we get to get away from the dirt stuff. lol

What, I really need to find is some different boots beside his motor cross boots. Any suggestions on where and what to get?

I don't remember where we bought ours, found this on google. Tyler raced a pocketbike at first, which led us to pocketbike boots, that may not be the best option for you guys?

 

Well, I guess I better start opening up the check book. $175.00 for some kids boots.... LOL!

Find some local mini organizations and see if you find any used ones for sale. I know we gave away a lot of our mini stuff.

 

Yea, Ill be searching forums and what not. I don't expect anything for free. If it came down to him not racing or ordering the boots Id order the boots and pay for over night shipping. This place is awlways so useful with info and ideas, I knew this is the first place I would go to for info and ideas.

Good thing is there is only 1 more race for this season, so he has already been told he could use everything again for that race and then we can search for everything over the winter break.

 

Go ian go , I'll try to get Jr a little bike before then and he can go work with him , I'm pretty sure Ian would love that
