Wanted to get opinions on soda/walnut blasting front rotors. I realize sand blasting is too harsh but I heard some people saying the soda/walnut alternative would be safe to remove old brake material since I am changing brake pads and wanted to have a clean start.

Btw these are on Galfer wave rotors.

    Thanks for any info.

Flex hone &/or Green scotchbrite with a brake cleaner cleaning work great.

That media isn't going to touch stainless, and I wouldn't trust being very even with it.

If you want to be safe I'd do the scotchbrite too. I use 07777 stuff but whatever works. We have a cabinet too with crushed glass (pretty mild abrasive) , if that tells you anything.

I use a glass bead blaster that works fine. I can't imagine that walnuts would be any different or worse than rotor hones, which work well too.

Flex hone works good or I found this guy that does a good job resurfacing https://truedisk.net/ he's done a 4 sets for me (2 Brembo and 2 stock) and they are perfect.
