Okay - I'm working on the schedule. I'll ask for more later but right now I need some input on what the closest WERA class is to the following old VMD classes: Clubman 750 70's Vintage Challenge Clubman 350 70's GP 125 Original Superbike LW Stars HW I think that's it for now. Hoping you guys are quicker than me reading through the rules from last year. Basically I'm translating the 2016 schedule into full WERA speak then I'm going to start rearranging the classes based on what I know works and bump ups and so on. Like I already see V1 and V2 are in the same race which doesn't work. However I'll ask for input on that later - for now just some class translations. Thanks!
Stars HW you have sorted pretty well i think. Lets just not do any back to back LWT (SV) races this year. Aight?
I've got V1 as 70's GP 250 - but could be working off an old cheat sheet too. I think that combining Clubman 350 and 70's GP 250 into V1 is the best bet. Stars HW is HWTSS so that's covered. It didn't pay WERA points I think because it didn't allow the 675 or something like that. I think 70's Vintage Challenge was mostly a duplicate. 70's GP 125 was the same people/bikes as GP125 so nothing there. If I consider Clubman 250 to be V1 that's covered. OSB Lightweight looks like a LW V5 - and has had only one entry. He can run in V5 and be good. So Clubman 750 is my one I'm not sure on - Had 3 people run it last year on a Yam 750, Yam 650, BMW 750 and that's the only class they ran - so what does it match up with our stuff? I know it should be something but it's already been a long day
Couple of threads from the past about clubman350 and 70's GP250 = V1 http://forums.13x.com/index.php?threads/vintage-motorcycle-days.220451/#post-2600033 http://forums.13x.com/index.php?threads/vintage-motorcycle-days.220451/page-4#post-2616460
Yep, good to go on that. Basically just trying to make sure I'm not missing anything on the schedule and if I have people ask I can give them an accurate answer. So now to find room for both V8's and V6 MW... Wheeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, and finish the rulebook.
Okay - first off this is TENTATIVE! 1) V5, V3 2) Pre-War, GP125 3) 500GP, V2, 250GP 4) 600/C Superstock Expert & Novice 5) V6MW, LWTSS Ex & Nv 6) V8HW, Formula 3 7) V1, F-500, 350GP, All Class C 8) Open/A Superstock Expert & Novice 9) V4, V6LW, Formula 2-Stroke 10) HWTSS Ex & Nv, V7HW 11) V6HW, V7MW, Formula 2 Ex & Nv 12) 600/C Superbike Expert & Novice 13) Sidecars 14) HWTSB Ex & Nv, V8 MW 15) WERA/A Superbike Expert & Novice 16) LWTSB Ex & Nv, Thruxtons See anything wrong with it? Am I missing anything? And secondly this is TENTATIVE!
Sheesh, people must be working today. Okay, practice thoughts - also TENTATIVE! 1) Pre-War, Class C, 125 thru 350GP, V1 2) V2 thru V5, 500GP, F-500, F 2-stroke 3) Lightweight Expert & Novice 4) Sidecars 5) 600cc Expert & Novice 6) 1000cc Expert & Novice I will rearrange the order of the groups. V6/V7/V8 will go into the LW/600/1000 groups that they fit in best.
You have a bike for each? You may be screwed but I'll look at it. Where do you see a D? VMD is limited classes, never ran D there.
My bad, I should have asked that differently. I thought when you said you were transitioning to WERA classes I thought you meant all of them. It's still limited classes, I got it.
Oh yeah - definitely limited classes compared to normal WERA. Just using WERA Vintage class names/rules for all the ones we are running there. Hopefully it'll make things easier on everyone since this event had it's own naming and everything before.
So anyone see any issues with the way things are combined? Any speed/lap differences that would make things iffy that I've missed?
Where does 200GP fit in? They normally have the largest grids at AHRMA events and now there is no longer a conflict with the NJMP weekend some might want to race at VMD.
