F#ck Veterans. Bunch of soulless savages. It’s their fault I’m crosseyed drunk and have to get up in four hours for a 20 mile ruck march.
We are all indebted and extremely fortunate that so many of you have either volunteered or accepted your call to duty. My hat is off to you all. Thank you Dad, Uncle, nephew and so many friends and others.
Agreed People crack on Facebook, but it allowed me to hook up with about half the guys I served with and that has proved to be priceless to me at my advancing age
The guys that went in at Normandy set the standard during those campaigns. They stood up, when it was time to put up or shut up. The books by Stephan Ambrose (D-Day, Band Of Brothers, Citizen Soldiers) share many first person insights on what our veterans brought to the table, in very difficult conditons/circumstances.
To all of my fallen bothers, you are the ones I give thanks. I was glad to give some, they gave it all.
