"ONLY in Vintage 6, 750cc and smaller machines may run overbore kits".
My old CBR1000F (998cc) had an overbore kit taking it to 1049cc would that not be allowed this year?

Dude, isn't a 1052 cc engine enough for you?. I know a guy who won many a Vintage 6 race on just a 410 cc bike!!! [IMG]

First lets get this straight, the schwantzmobile has never been beat! (because it's never been raced) [IMG]
I used it once last year at the GNF in it's puny 771cc config.(took tenth, got killed) this year it's got a1100 in it.

"Dude, isn't a 1052 cc engine enough for you?."... no, not if you have no talent and still want to win! [IMG]

...well...uhhm...there has been a few (dozen) times the CBR1000 was "nipped at the line" by a FZR 410(really a cheater 560 )(aka, Brian Kcratchet# 473)...but you have to understand Brian's body was sold to Wayne Rainey so he could race again...it's not really Brian.

    LOL [IMG]

Wayne Rainey I can handle. It's all those other 600 novices I race with now that think they are Kenny Jr that scare the hell out of me. WIN or DIE!!! [IMG]

V6 is fun, if the start gets delayed for some reason, then time is allowed for us to return to the pits for a nap...it's the most civilized of classes [IMG]

hey byron, i'll sell you some talent for two-thirds of what you would pay for an overbore kit! [IMG] the real secret to winning isn't the bike and all of the trick parts dude, buy a beater that no one else would ride, convince yourself that you cannot be beat over a fifth of wild turkey and three strippers. when your teammates sober you up enough to get on the bike, ignore the possibility of death or pain and ride the thing. see you at the track. rob.

What are you doing Bryon?!! The season just began!!! Sorry to hear about the broken leg?
How long does the doc say it will take to heal? What happened?

Get well and I hope to see you soon.

If I find one in the search for my fingertips, I'll let you know. I'm sure one of the ones I lost on Friday is now a permanent part of the track (or maybe someones tire). [IMG]

Okay, here's the song and dance: Roebling Thursday: Take the bike out for the first time and love the engine, it's very easy to read/ride and makes smooth mondo power, just like the CBR but more and you don't need to shift it, was at home with it in 30 minutes. Started to take it up to medium fast in the corners and found a bad wobble mid corner, felt like a soft spring and no rebound, add more power and it would get less but still very there. Go in, set static sag and race sag, 3 clicks out on compression on the forks to get full travel and discover that the rear shock did not respond to clicks of rebound until 3 clicks to full hard (was at 6). Tried 2 clicks from full hard. Went out problem had moved to fast corner speed. Still bad just at a higher speed. Practise over. Rained during Friday practise, no tire guys were there to change tires, went to 1 click before full hard and waited to race.
Had no time to even practise a launch. Was second into turn one with Dale 5 bikes lengths ahead, held second for two laps, Dale kept walking me on the fast sweepers, the wobble came back after second lap, let one rider get through (was having to slow for the fast turns and it was messing up my drive onto the straight) another rider got through, passed him back, repassed me , passed him back, was on my knee in turn 2 about to enter the short shoot, bike raising up and down, more gas, front end went out, no push, no warning, see sky, see bike flying over my head, see dirt, start tumbleing for what felt like hours, like a washing machine. Leg kinda hurts, coolest V6 bike is trashed. Drove 11 hours home. Six weeks for the leg,

"hey byron, are you gonna fix it?" - yes, the bike must have barrel-rolled in the air and just cleaned off the upper and trashed the tail, the rest is what you would expect from a highspeed low-side, pipe, levers, sanded down cases, etc. this weekend I'll know for sure. "try to get back?"- what, are you nuts? do you know how much I have invested in this machine? I'll be back, stay healthy, I want to whip you with no excuses [IMG]
The wobble is from the shock, during the building of the bike, the shock was a bone of contention between a well known race suspension shop (who was revalving it) and Speedwerks, with said shock being returned several times because the rebound was not functioning as it should( and it wasn't). The wobble was bad enough that I pulled out of thursday practise just before Chuck was going to meatball me. Dale road it and felt there was an alignment/ride-height problem. All I know is my problem would deminish when I added rebound, but returned after 2 laps. The fault is mine, I should have pulled out of the race...but I was in second and thought I could ride around the problem.

Yea, I'm OK. I just got a couple of fingertips lopped of by the chain/countershaft sprocket monster the last time I reached down to flip up my broken shift lever and linkage at the end of my last race. (Surprised I didn't reach down again?)

Aside from having to deal with morons passing themselves off as Orthopedic Surgeons just so they can bring me into their office, tell me I need a hand specialist then pawn me off on another Ortho Surgeon.

Well, if any of you sickos wanna see my fingers, I'll try to get some pix up by tonight at: http://www.angelfire.com/biz4/dieselpower/notip4u.html

Wow, I forgot to finish a thought... and I can't even blame it on decent pain medication!

Anyway... despite the above I'm doing well and can't wait for my next race!
