Triple Clamps Fabricator.

Hey Everyone,

Happy New Year.

Does anyone know a reliable fabricator of 'Triple Clamps'?

I am looking for a set of Racing Triple Clamps for my 94' YZF750R Race Bike Project.

I have the stock set so the stem could be machined into the new set and the oem specs could be used.

Any info appreciated.

Third. If he doesn't stock it, he's still the guy I'd go to for making a set.

 

I contacted Attack earlier this year ans they weren't willing to do it, even though they are still listed on their web site. Is he the owner of Attack or on his own now?

Are you sure Attack doesn't have anything?

I spoke to them last month about a customer with a YZF750 and they had at least 1 set in stock.

 

My guess is they got tired of hearing that "Why is it that exspensive?" reply when they tell someone that it'll cost them 5k for a single set of triples.

But if you are going to take a designer, operator and mill out of production to run a one off set that's probably where they have to be to not cost them money to make them.

 

The guys at Attack are pretty reasonable. Their custom clamps start out about $1600.

 

That's not the number that was thrown at me when I called.

 

It depends on what you are having them do, and if they have dimensions already. The key words were "start out about $1600"



As far as the YZF clamps I just talked to Gil over there and he has a single set of black clamps available.

 

If changing the stem size on a set of CBR600 clamps doesn't qualify for the "start out" then I can only assume they didn't want the business at the time due to the volume of other business. I can understand a business needing to stay focused and throwing out a number that makes someone look else where for the service.

I got them made for a fraction of what they quoted me. I suspect stuff like that depends on how busy they are when you make the request.

 

This is very true. If it is in the middle of the race season it is much more difficult than this time of year.
