Not surprised at all. Next they will want to ban the name so no one will make the same mistake in the future.
Would that they were just ignorant. However their hatred of this nation extends to any symbol of it, its principles, and its agents. So this statue was fair game. The Left's hatred of nationalism in any form is pretty evident (open borders, anyone?), but openly espousing it isn't a good election strategy in the US.
It's funny that the left always tries to use the history of "America was built on immigrants" for open borders but fail to see why those people immigrated here. It's as if they just want to pick and choose the history that best suits the narrative. Just like hunting and muskets for 2A.
I like the new GOP strategy of forcing the dems to own their policy goals. It is crystal clear that their platform is open borders, protection for non citizens over citizens, abolish ICE, free healthcare for all, free medicare for all, and oppressive unnecessary environmental regulation and raising taxes. That is who they are and if you vote for them, who you are.
