Would you like to be on the receiving end of the brutalization that made that "colonization" possible? It's not like any of the "colonizers" were out there for anything other than resource extraction, and they never allowed the indigenous people to benefit from the wealth those resources brought.
As empires go, the Brits were pretty fucking benign. The Romans crucified you. The Mongols cut your head off. The Turks castrated you. The Incas and Mayans cut out your heart and ate it while you watched. the Brits taught you to read and gave you a funny hat.
What is that like? Inductive or deductive reasoning? Wasn’t obvious at first blush, but I am impatient. What did you like about it?
It's a benign form of Grammar Nazi...a marginal effort on a pre-coffee Friday morning when word meanings seem to be so fluid. It identifies as snark.
Im speaking about today. TODAY you are the beneficiary of English colonization. The bottom line is colonization happens. Period. People go to war. People take over land previously occupied. It is literally in our genes. Chimpanzees systematically conquer (and kill) other groups of chimps when resources are scarce or better on the other side. And you’d be lucky today to have been colonized by England. Any argument against that is just virtue signaling.
Absolutely absurd. Leave people alone and let them solve their own problems. So long as they don’t become your problems, the no doubt extreme regime starts exporting their problems. And then you step in, judiciously, with discretion, and clear intention and focus.
You want to tell be how your can forecast an outcome that was censored from ever occurring? Wait. Don't even try. Its probably like you getting to the track -- all in your head.
Read? Instruction manuals are why we have YouTube! Conquest is inevitable in a competitive environment. It’s the way of all life to take what others have and exploit them. From viruses and bacteria up to humans. People have this very strange view that we’re somehow better or separate from nature. Just because we build rocketships and watch Netflix it doesn’t make us separate from the ecosystem or outside nature. I’m pretty sure Carlin was right, the Earth decided it really needed some plastics. All of the cultures that people cry were conquered were doing the exact same slaughtering and conquering to their fellows before western powers ever came along. That’s a great sentiment. That’s not how people behave or ever will behave though. Any group is going to prioritize itself over others and do whatever they have to ensure their own survival.
uh huh… so you’re willing to give up almost every facet of your modern existence that has been made possible by globalization to be able to say that humans don’t conquer?
