Look up how many billions in foreign aid we send to Israel every year - including under Obama. Yes, it's billions, not millions. They typically are in the top 3 countries for foreign aid dollars from the US.

You understand when Obama meddled in the Israeli elections and UN resolution, he did it on the fly and not out in the open. Why would he do that?

 

IF Obama did that because he thought it was in the best interest of the US to see another Israeli leader I am fine with it. If he did it in his capacity as a highly partisan leftist, not so much.

 

He funded the Palestine with some of the funds ($115k) which is different from funding Bibi political oppo, IIRC. They still couldn't vote in the elections but still funded the two state solution which Bibi opposed.

 

They’re required to use that money to buy US made war making equipment. Foreign aid is just self interest, not charity. It’s hilarious when people always say we should cut off foreign aid and spend the money here. We give people money to manipulate them and make them dependent. It’s a carrot. The stick is a United States battlefleet sitting off your coast and pounding your society into dust. Bribing people with a few billion here and there is probably 1000x cheaper than what it would take to convince them with force.

It’s just good business to fund friendly actors in potentially hostile regions, they serve as an independent thorn in our adversaries side.

We do this with more than just foreign aid. The British nuclear weapons program is essentially a subsidiary of ours.

 

I posted in another thread the link which detailed out which countries receive foreign aid from the US and how much. Several in the top 10 are not "friendlies". Add up the total sum of the top 10 aid receivers and it's a lot of f'in money. Our foreign policy over the last 50 years is unsustainable. Endless wars are unsustainable.

 

Still just 1% of the budget.

No you can’t, but at the same time, I’m good with it and thank God Trump has the stones to put the US interest and well being in the forefront rather then making concessions like Kerry and Obama doing their best Neville Chamberlain and only looking for appeasement with no resulting solutions that resulted in the crap “deal” that Trump rightfully killed. The “deal” with Iran was so one sided in their favor and in reality was more of an appeasement offer. It certainly didn’t do anything to address the real issues. Yeah you can’t make the shit up of how the blundering Obama made such a crappy deal then proclaimed it to be way awesome.
