For people who build engines and try and get the most HP and spread of power think about this. Idle at 3500 power starts at 7000 and goes to 18500 and the sound is truly amazing. The spread of power and amount from such a tiny engine is feat of engineering. Thank for sharing the sound of real engines this morning. Mmmm love it and miss that. Steven

Not many motorsports moments are as awesome to see/hear than the starting lap of the Indy 500 from under the grandstand, towards turn 1.
Yeah, me too, although I still couldn't believe they were going ahead with the season. Now it looks like I might be proven right.
They had said that if one team couldn’t participate in a race then none of them would...wonder if this withdrawal falls into that edict?
Id be shocked if its not raced this weekend, it wouldn't just be completely called off. The logistics of getting all the equipment to australia twice would be insane.
I can't help but wonder about all the F1, WSBK, etc teams that have been barely holding on. Even after all of this over, we may see half-empty grids for the next several years.
Only reason it was cancelled this late, is the behind the scenes fighting over who would/will pay for the cancellation. FOM/Promoter hoping the other would cave first. A big game of chicken. The press release was ridiculous. Hell, everyone was there, the crowds already were mingling and lining up to get in (but denied at the gates), they might just as well have had it, just without spectators. Really stupid it got to this point. Oh well...
