Well yeah, that would have been the case. I’m glad VR decided to stay and dominate on 2 wheels. Dbag Alonso, oth, claiming he could podium in MotoGP with a little practice.
Now that was stupid on a scale that requires all new measurements. Dominate? That's what you call the past decade?
Sophia Floersch, the girl involved in that horrific F3 crash at Macau, seems to be doing well and ran into someone on her way out of Macau.
Or the fire may have been a moot point if the halo was not there and his head was smashed like a watermelon. Who is to say?
Even if he isn't smooshed and there is no halo, I cant imagine there would be a lot of room to crawl out there.
Can't remember whether it was Martin Brundle or Derek Warwick but one of them managed to get out of an upside down car after a big smash at Monza some years ago. IIRC they legged it back to the pits and got in the spare car.
At some point, you're gotta play statistics. What's more likely? Flying object/car, or upside down car against a wall?
Brundle Australia 96, too, not sure he ended up on his head though. It was in the excellent documentary, One, I think it's called.
Its too bad they cant use V12's any more ... listen to this motor! https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-ca...-martin-valkyrie-cosworth-v12-engine-details/ (video near the bottom)
or rather, upside-down AND engulfed in flames. this year alone has shown has that flying object/car is A LOT more likely than the latter. the FIA expected 1 incident over 2 years where the halo definitely prevented an injury. instead, we got 2 incidents this year.
