Talladega roll call

Yeah same here.. I will be at cota that weekend, but I also have not been to a tally race since I moved to Dallas 4 years ago. That was always one of my favorite tracks.

 

In for Grom and 300 classes.

Have fun in Talla diga, (that's how they told me to say it).

It's 1985, I'm 21 years old and fresh out of college, as a computer programmer. Before programming, the company wanted me to install the inventory control software we sold for Office Supply companies, and learn the business.

My first install was in Talladega for a really nice owner named Cleve Jacobs (SP?). He gave me a company van to drive back and forth from work to the hotel. He had a pretty girl employee, don't remember her name, that drove with me and showed me Talledega Speedway. I was into racing, not really Nascar, but I wanted to see the place and she was fun to hang out with.

I know it's a different trak, my son has raced at that little place, with Tryce, Jake and Garrett, but I didnt make that clear. If I had known about that track back then, and it were around, I would have tried to check it out too.

I was just remembering how I learned the locals said it differently.

 

I think Little Tally was built in '85 but I am going off of memory here.
