Some old guy didn't steal my GF, but here's a bike you don't often see at the track

After spending most of my riding years firmly entrenched in the track day scene, i'm gonna try and give racing a go this year... of all of the bikes i've ever had on the track, i had the most fun and felt the most comfortable on a hypermotard. sooooo... i ditched my V4 panigale and picked up a new Hyper 950... I know it's not the most ideal bike as far as what classes i'll have to run it in, but i'm not going to be winning anything as a first year novice anyway, so i might as well ride the bike i'm most comfortable on.

so here's what one got so far.

haha, i’m just trying to be realistic. i’m quickly approaching 40 years old and have to be at work on mondays. this is totally just a bucket list thing for me and also purely for fun. as long as i don’t wad it up i’m happy

 

I think you're going to have a blast on that thing. You may not win. But fuck, I'll bet you'll have more fun than pretty much everyone. Lol. Cool.

 

OP, I believe you did a good job spending investing your $$$, versus trying to win the heart of your favorite stripper. Good job.

 

Dude, that thing is badass. Looks like more fun than the often touted barrel of monkeys. Enjoy it.

 

You’ll have to let me know how that goes for you - I’m about to trade in my 08 s4rs tricolore for a 950 SP. would love to know what you think once you get it dialed in.

i think you'll love it, a lot of leverage on the bars makes it easy to pick a line and adjust if needed, that's the biggest difference for me vs a bike with clip ons. that and i'm a taller guy at 6'5" so while i may look like a monkey fucking a Grom, it's a much more comfortable riding position than a sportbike. The addition of the up/down quick shifter for 2019 is extra nice.

the tricolore is a beautiful bike though

 

I used to race with a bunch of guys like that too, but when it comes down to a last lap pass for a $3 wooden plaque suddenly remember they have a pile of sick days they need to use up......
